Professional Wall-to-Wall Carpet Cleaning

Since 2016, Eco Cleaning NYC has cleaned wall-to-wall carpet across Manhattan and the boroughs with hot-water extraction (HWE) — the method that flushes embedded soil, allergens, and bacteria from the carpet pile and backing, then extracts it along with the water. Synthetic carpet (nylon, polyester, olefin) takes higher-temperature HWE because there’s no heat-sensitive foam underneath, and higher heat releases more soil; wool stays under 120°F with neutral-pH detergent to protect the fiber

Carpet Problems We Solve

Traffic lanes

Wicking

old spills that "reappear" as they wick up from the backing after drying; we address the source, not just the surface.

Pet accidents

surface odor returns when urine has soaked into the pad; we're honest about what HWE can and can't reach (sub-pad contamination may need pad treatment, not just a top clean).

Allergens & dust
Allergens & dust

HEPA-aided extraction pulls dust, dander, pollen, and dust-mite fragments from the pile.

Residential vs Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Residential carpet cleaning — apartments, brownstones, condos. HWE with controlled drying for tight NYC layouts where same-day reoccupancy matters.

We use encapsulation for low-downtime maintenance (the polymer crystallizes around soil and is vacuumed in the next cycle), with periodic HWE restorative cleans. Flexible after-hours scheduling; W-9 and compliance documentation on request.

Maintenance vs Deep Cleaning

Regular maintenance (encapsulation / interim cleaning) keeps commercial carpet presentable between restorative HWE deep cleans. For homes, a deep HWE clean every 6–12 months (3–6 with pets or high traffic) prevents the grit that breaks down fibers.
Our Carpet Cleaning Process

Methodology aligned with IICRC carpet-cleaning standards (S100/CCT categories); our Head Trainer Alex Sonier holds IICRC and Green Seal certifications. Every job ends with our 50-point quality check.

Inspection
Inspection

Fiber type identified (nylon, polyester, olefin, wool, blend), soiling level mapped, problem areas noted (traffic lanes, wicking spots, pet zones). UV check for hidden pet urine.

Pre-Vacuum
Pre-Vacuum

Dry soil removed before any moisture. Most of what's in a carpet is dry grit — removing it dry is what separates professional cleaning from rental-machine work.

Pre-Treatment
Pre-Treatment

pH-matched pre-spray for the fiber and soil type. Targeted spot treatment for stains and traffic lanes.

Agitation
Agitation

Solution worked into the pile for even soil release. Soft brushes for delicate fibers, counter-rotating brushes for high-traffic synthetic.

HWE
Hot-Water Extraction

Higher temperature for synthetic (no heat-sensitive foam underneath, so more soil releases at higher heat). Neutral-pH cool extraction for wool under 120°F.

Neutralize
Neutralize & Deodorize

pH rebalanced for a skin-friendly finish. Odor neutralized at the source — not masked with fragrance.

Controlled drying
Controlled Drying

Air movers for staged drying. We minimize residual moisture to prevent wicking and mildew. Most rooms walk-on dry within 2–4 hours.

Fiber Protection
Optional Fiber Protection

Calibrated coating that repels future spills before they penetrate.

Measurable Environmental Impact

Carpet is the most water-intensive cleaning category, so eco-method choices matter most here. Compared with traditional high-water steam cleaning:

Up to 70% less water per job — traditional high-water steam can use 8–10 gallons; our controlled HWE / low-moisture passes use about 2–3 gallons (by our measurements).

About 60% less cleaning chemistry by volume — EPA Safer Choice / Green Seal products at controlled concentration.

Zero phosphates, chlorine, or synthetic fragrances in our product line.

Why Eco Cleaning for Carpets
  • Fiber-calibrated method. Synthetic gets higher heat for maximum soil release; wool stays cool and neutral-pH; cut-pile and loop-pile handle agitation differently. The temperature/moisture calibration is what protects pile while pulling soil.
  • In-house team. Around 90% of our technicians are permanent staff with team leads averaging 5 years — practiced on traffic-lane recovery, wicking control, and the temperature/moisture calibration that protects each fiber type. We don’t subcontract carpet work.
  • Process backbone. Every job runs the same workflow — Jobber scheduling, Google Calendar confirmation, a per-order Jobber Tasks checklist (with fiber type, soiling level, and traffic-lane treatment plan recorded), a post-clean 50-point quality check with photo documentation, and account history in GoHighLevel CRM.
  • Equipment. Truck-mount and portable extraction units from Sapphire Scientific, HydraMaster, and Mytee — calibrated for fiber-appropriate temperature and moisture.
  • Plant-based products. EPA Safer Choice and Green Seal product line — zero phosphates, chlorine, or synthetic fragrances. Safety Data Sheets available on request.
  • 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on every carpet clean. Report any concern within 24 hours; we re-clean free within 48 hours, full refund if still not satisfied. Average resolution 1–3 business days.
NYC-Experienced Carpet Cleaners — Since 2016
NYC-Experienced Carpet

Since 2016 we’ve cleaned wall-to-wall carpet across NYC homes, offices, and hospitality — including the brownstones and pre-war buildings where 60+ year-old carpet still meets daily foot traffic. We know what NYC does to carpet: salt and slush tracked in all winter, summer humidity in fibers that drives wicking, and the foot-traffic concentration that hallway carpet sees in any apartment building. Every technician is background-checked, bonded, and insured.

FAQ

How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?

Every 6–12 months for most homes. Every 3–6 months with pets, kids, or high foot traffic. Commercial spaces typically combine interim encapsulation maintenance with annual or semi-annual restorative HWE.

Most rooms take 30–45 minutes. With low-moisture HWE and air-moved drying, most clients walk on carpets the same afternoon (2–4 hours after cleaning).

Not with controlled-moisture HWE and proper drying. Over-wetting (the common rental-machine failure) is what causes shrinkage and wicking — we avoid both by design.

What people call ‘steam cleaning’ is hot-water extraction — heated solution is injected and immediately extracted along with the soil. True dry steam isn’t used for carpet soil removal because it doesn’t carry enough solution to lift embedded dirt. We control temperature and moisture to the fiber: higher heat for synthetic, cool for wool.

Yes — offices, retail, common areas, hospitality, and Airbnb units. Encapsulation maintenance with periodic HWE restorative cleans. After-hours scheduling. COI, W-9, and OSHA-aligned procedures available on request.

Yes — plant-based EPA Safer Choice / Green Seal products, zero phosphates, chlorine, or synthetic fragrances. SDS on request.

We’re honest about what HWE can reach. Surface urine treatment works for fresh accidents and shallow contamination. When urine has soaked through the carpet pad to the sub-floor, surface cleaning alone won’t eliminate odor — those situations need pad treatment or pad replacement. We’ll tell you at the inspection which scenario applies to your carpet.

Report concerns within 24 hours, we re-clean free within 48 hours. Full refund if still not satisfied.
